Santa!

Apparently Santa lives right down the alley! He came by for a special visit before Lucia went to Chicago for Christmas.

A little holiday shopping

Lucia had some leftover milk money and decided to check out the shops with Mom and Dad.

First she headed to Baby Gap to check out the latest trend in Minnesotan winter wear. Not too impressed--kind of dorky.

Later, she decided to see what they had at Macy's toy department. Ponies and Dinosaurs? Too much maintenence.

A little more shopping and Lucia was beat. Probably frustrated that she couldn't find anything to fit her budget. What could she afford? This cardboard box. A hard lesson on today's economics...

9 Months

Lucia celebrated 9 months. We notice that she usually looks pretty solemn in these photos. We wonder if she is quietly reflecting on the months that seem to pass by so quickly.

Or perhaps she is planing her escape from yet another photo in that yellow chair...

Thanksgiving

Just a couple shots of Thanksgiving weekend spent in Chicago. It was a little rough. Lucia was teething and crabby. Later, Dad developed the stomach flu. Two babies, one tired Mom. Long drive home. Despite all, it was still a good visit.

Obaby! 8 Months!

Lucia turned 8 months old the day before election day. By wearing her "vote." t-shirt, she was able to remind her daycare pals that some polititians are like diapers...if they're full of crap, CHANGE 'EM! She hopes you all voted!

Lucia and Mom spent a long weekend in Illinois. Both spent quality time with friends and family. Here are some photos that Papi John took on a walk to a nearby park.

Grandmas on a Train

Lucia's Grandma Roxana and Great Grandma Nona took the train up to Minneapolis and stayed for a week. We had a nice time relaxing around the house, doing a little shopping, eating delicious Ecuadorian food, and spending a beautiful fall day at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

Check out Lucia's newly pierced ears.

Seven Months

Lucia is seven months old. Time is going by so quickly! Even she looks shocked!

Mom started back at work at the end of August. Lucia has started at a daycare two days a week, which at this point she is finally tolerating, but it was a long, tear-filled road. She is home with either Grandma Sue, Mom, or Dad on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It's a great balance and we feel so fortunate to each have a day home with her.

Unfortunately related to daycare, Lucia got her first cold, fever, and ear infection this past month. The amoxicillin used to treat her ear infection gave her a rash, vomiting, and the runs. Tons of fun for all...

Along with the first cold, came first teeth! Here is Lucia showing off her pearly whites. Watch your fingers! She loves to bite.

More updating to come. Stay tuned!

Happy Half-Birthday!

Lucia is six months old!

We can't believe how much Lucia has grown and changed. She is rolling over, babbling, sitting up, sprouting a tooth, and wants her hands on everything. It was tough taking this month's picture since Lucia kept grabbing at Rowlf. In these pictures, she is wearing the sweater her grandma Sue knit for her christening.

Grandma Visits

Lucia's grandmother, Roxana, was able to visit twice in the month of August for a total of two week-long visits! We spent time eating, playing, relaxing, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

We toured Auntie Christine's art show at the Chambers Hotel in Minneapolis--exclusively for Macy's "Glamourama" hosted by Cyndi Lauper and MC Hammer. We hear it was a nice party...

Lucia is very proud of her Auntie!

Bailando tambien!! (Dancing too!)

Lucia had some very nice bonding time with her grandmother. After these past visits, Lucia becomes especially excited when we do video calls on the internet.

What About Dottie?

Poor Dottie hasn't gotten enough love these days. We need to give the dog props for being such an outstanding canine companion. Dottie absolutely loves Lucia. She goes to Lucia's crib when she cries, hangs out at her feet, shares her toys, and lets Lucia grab her fur. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter pooch. Here's to you, Dottie!

This video is our FAVORITE!

Bon Appetit!

Lucia had her first food today. Rice cereal in a bowl from Grand Aunt Kathy fed to her by Dad. It seemed she wasn't quite sure how to feel about her new food.
