Santa!
Apparently Santa lives right down the alley! He came by for a special visit before Lucia went to Chicago for Christmas.

A little holiday shopping
Lucia had some leftover milk money and decided to check out the shops with Mom and Dad.

A little more shopping and Lucia was beat. Probably frustrated that she couldn't find anything to fit her budget. What could she afford? This cardboard box. A hard lesson on today's economics...

First she headed to Baby Gap to check out the latest trend in Minnesotan winter wear. Not too impressed--kind of dorky.
Later, she decided to see what they had at Macy's toy department. Ponies and Dinosaurs? Too much maintenence.

9 Months
Lucia celebrated 9 months. We notice that she usually looks pretty solemn in these photos. We wonder if she is quietly reflecting on the months that seem to pass by so quickly.

Or perhaps she is planing her escape from yet another photo in that yellow chair...

Thanksgiving
Just a couple shots of Thanksgiving weekend spent in Chicago. It was a little rough. Lucia was teething and crabby. Later, Dad developed the stomach flu. Two babies, one tired Mom. Long drive home. Despite all, it was still a good visit.

Obaby! 8 Months!
Lucia turned 8 months old the day before election day. By wearing her "vote." t-shirt, she was able to remind her daycare pals that some polititians are like diapers...if they're full of crap, CHANGE 'EM! She hopes you all voted!

Autumn in Chicago
Lucia and Mom spent a long weekend in Illinois. Both spent quality time with friends and family. Here are some photos that Papi John took on a walk to a nearby park.

Grandmas on a Train
Lucia's Grandma Roxana and Great Grandma Nona took the train up to Minneapolis and stayed for a week. We had a nice time relaxing around the house, doing a little shopping, eating delicious Ecuadorian food, and spending a beautiful fall day at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

Check out Lucia's newly pierced ears.

Seven Months
Lucia is seven months old. Time is going by so quickly! Even she looks shocked!
Mom started back at work at the end of August. Lucia has started at a daycare two days a week, which at this point she is finally tolerating, but it was a long, tear-filled road. She is home with either Grandma Sue, Mom, or Dad on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. It's a great balance and we feel so fortunate to each have a day home with her.
Along with the first cold, came first teeth! Here is Lucia showing off her pearly whites. Watch your fingers! She loves to bite.

More updating to come. Stay tuned!

Unfortunately related to daycare, Lucia got her first cold, fever, and ear infection this past month. The amoxicillin used to treat her ear infection gave her a rash, vomiting, and the runs. Tons of fun for all...
