Lucia went to her first doctor's appointment today. Doc says everything looks great! She's gained all her weight back and more since she was born (she lost several ounces before leaving the hospital). Doc said it usually takes about 2-3 weeks for babies to regain their weight. Lucia is ahead of the game and on the way to buddha-belly-ville. She is one good eater! One downfall is that Catherine will be seeing a lactation consultant on Wednesday since Lucia has one heck of a barricuda bite. Amazing that Catherine has hung in there all this time.
Lucia is healthy, sleeps much of the day, hardly cries, and gives mom and dad a decent amount of sleep at night. Of course we know that this is all subject to change... In the meantime, we feel so blessed and thankful to have such a healthy, easy going and happy baby.

Lucia's gandmother says that Catherine also had a barracuda bite. ;-)
To release the suction, you have to push a finger between Lucia's mouth and the "source of the baby's nutrients".
